,Crab-Stuffed MushroomsI think this is a really elegant appetizer dish.

Every time I make this, it is a hit -- guaranteed.

A bit on the expensive side, but sure to please.

,Youll need to take a trip to Costco and pick up two things; jumbo stuffing mushrooms and 1 can of lump crab meat.

,Dont be a cheapskate and buy the $2 can of crab meat (scraps) from your local supermarket.

Get the good stuff.

Itll set you back $15-$18, but will be well worth it.

,You need to get stuffing mushrooms, about two inches across (sometimes bigger).

The size will allow you to carve out a nice deep cavern for your delectable filling to go into.

Gently break off the stems and use a melon baller to carefully carve out the insides, being very, very, very careful not to go too deep as to puncture the outer skin.

After you do a few, youll get the hang of how far in you can carve it.

,Here are the ingredients youll need: Now dont look at the list of ingredients and start complaining.

You are the one who said you wanted elegant.

Take the mixture and stuff as much filling as you can into the mushroom.

,Step 4.

Place onto a 9 x 13 baking pan and cover with aluminum foil.

Bake in the oven at 350 degrees (F) for 20 minutes.

Remove from oven, uncover, and drain out any water that has been excreted from the mushrooms.

(This portion of the recipe can be made up to 24 hours in advance).

,Step 6.

Ten minutes before your guests are scheduled to arrive is the time to put the final touches on the dish.

,Step 7: Place cooked mushrooms onto a grated baking rack and top the mushrooms with more Parmesan cheese, as much as you can, without it falling off.

,Step 8: Turn on broiler (convection setting, if you oven has it) and melt the cheese until a nice crust forms and it is golden brown.

,Step 9: Place on serve tray and serve.

Top with green onions, for garnish (optional).
